1936 Ford Bell System flatbed boom truck
Used by Pacific Northwest Bell for cable placing and cable tensioning. It is now parked in a barn in Southwest Oregon.
1952 Studebaker Bell System line truck
This truck was used in Portland, Oregon for underground cable placing. It is equipped to pull underground cable from manhole to manhole. It is now parked in a field in Southwest Oregon. 1942 GMC Bell System "digger" line truck
This truck was used for digging telephone pole holes and setting telephone poles. It is equipped with a belly winch and crane. It was also used to carry various line equipment. The inside of the truck still carries an assortment of line equipment Note the Bell System cable splicers trailer parked next to the line truck. These vehicles are parked in the woods in Southwestern Oregon.
1950 Chevrolet Bell System line truck
This line truck was used for setting poles and stringing arial cable. It is equipped with a crane and winch. It is now parked in an open pole barn in Southwest Oregon. |
